Job Description
The Content Hub Data Steward Operations Analyst will support global clients in day-to-day operational market data needs, performing data stewarding and data management through utilization of D&A platforms and applications. Monitors data feeds and manages data quality tools for security reference, portfolio reference and various asset type activity. Identifies and documents and rectifies violations, exceptions in data quality tools and workflows. The position requires an individual that is self-motivated and has an entrepreneurial mindset. The individual needs to be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment and handle changing priorities. S/he will be required to collaborate with vendors, clients and other groups within the company to drive the execution of our data ingestion and quality strategy. Knowledge of security level treatments in cases of name/ticker changes, mergers, spinoffs, de-mergers, etc. Experience working with tools like Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Factset, Refinitiv and others on reference and accounting data. Familiar with symbology and identifier concepts and usage (ISIN,CUSIP,SEDOL, RIC) Primary tasks will include but are not limited to: Monitoring data ingestion processes Managing data exceptions Evaluate standard procedures and identify opportunities for improvement and automation Manage data quality and data trending needs to build industry standard best practices in data automation tools Interface with Lead Analyst to operationalize new feeds for quality, trouble shooting The Content Hub Data Steward Operations Analyst independently compiles, synthesizes and reports on market data sources; provides support with access, maintenance and security activities. Manages complex databases, feeds, etc. and assist with more complex data sources. Will be a subject matter expert on market data sources such as Bloomberg, IDC, FactSet, etc. Tests software enhancements and upgrades as necessary, and may provide recommendations for improvement. Establishes procedures and playbook details and interfaces with global team mates to deliver service. Contributes and responses to data-related questions from internal and external clients and helps provide solutions. Displays strong analytical skills, trouble-shooting, problem management trending. Experience with security reference data and/or fund accounting. Must display strong verbal and written communication skills. Ensures that all customer responses quick and thoroughly documented and verified. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Candidate Requirements: 2-5 years of experience as a business data analyst or working in a financial services operations role Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Computer Science, Math Solid knowledge of investment management business domain is required Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail Financial Data Management, Fund Accounting, or Portfolio Accounting related experience is preferred Desire to learn querying tools to access database information is required Although no programming experience is required, the desire to learn the technical architecture and structure of the system is required Hands on technology, SQL, Python and relational database experience are a plus Strong experience with Microsoft Excel Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and in a professional manner with other groups within the company Qualifications Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred. 3-5 years experience preferred. Experience in quantitative finance and technology preferred.
