Job Description
Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking exceptional and motivated actuaries with strong communication skills and a well-developed client service focus to join our Actuarial Advisory practice. Our actuaries work closely with our accounting, tax and transaction advisory professionals, which allows them to broaden their horizons and participate in diverse tasks outside the traditional areas of actuarial work. Our extensive network of actuaries all over the world, including the UK, US and Australia, provide support to each other, working together to serve our multinational clients.
As an actuarial advisor in our practice, you will provide strategic and methodology guidance to our clients in Hong Kong, China, and countries across Asia, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. Duties will include:

As an actuarial advisor in our practice, you will provide strategic and methodology guidance to our clients in Hong Kong, China, and countries across Asia, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. Duties will include:
- delivering quality actuarial audit services, covering life insurance, general insurance and pension
- performing financial due diligence assistance in transaction projects
- providing actuarial related advisory services, including appointed actuary service, actuarial modelling, product development, valuation, internal audit, etc.
Responsibilities
- Perform actuarial audits in support of the audits of financial statements in a variety of GAAPs such as HKFRS, IFRS, PRC GAAP, US GAAP, and other European standards
- Review the actuarial basis, methods, assumptions and related practice
- Review and analyse the actuarial technical works, including but not limited to the computation of reserve, embedded value, value of new business, source of earning etc
- Identify and help resolve complex audit and actuarial issues
- Manage or participate in projects to deliver quality audits and advisory services
- Conduct necessary research on the market trend, industry innovation etc
- Meet with clients regularly to obtain updates on their business, discussing issues, presenting key findings, and making practical recommendations
- Support Audit and Advisory professionals
- Play a key role in preparing presentations, proposal, and actuarial reports
- Deliver high quality work assigned by partners and director in a timely manner
Experience
- A minimum of two years relevant actuarial experience in the life insurance industry with a strong focus in financial reporting
- Fellowship member of an internationally recognised actuarial professional body is preferred
- Strong technical skills and ability to research actuarial issues in a wide variety of GAAPs; exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act is desirable
- Ability to make sound business judgments in assessing the significance of issues and developing value-added recommendations
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English and Chinese
- Self-starter with good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to multi-task, be flexible, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
