Conference Sales Executive
Mission
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who loves event planning and execution, can work autonomously and has a keen eye for detail. This role reports directly to the Director of Sales and General Manager is the face of our conference and events department.
This person will be responsible for the Development, Logistics and Coordination of Conference & Incentive business on behalf of the Grand Mercure hotel Wellington
They will manage a proactive sales call plan from existing and targeted client base to develop new conference opportunities within corporate, government, consortia and leisure markets.
Professional representation of the hotels to industry, stakeholders and prospective cliental including product training, presentations and attendance at network events (some of which are outside of hours).

What you will be doing:
Key Objective
To be responsible for the Development, Promotion and Sale of Conference & Incentive business on behalf of the Hotel.
Key Duties
- Maintenance of all conference incentive databases for key contacts/clients.
- Preparation, Presentation and closing of conference and incentive proposals.
- Provide quotations for conference and incentive proposals covering venue, functions, menus and accommodation costs
- Total organisation of conference and incentive activity/events from Enquiry -Confirmation to Post-Event follow-up in order to maximise client satisfaction.
- Meet and greet clients on arrival to their event, ensuring the smooth operational execution of all needs. Work closely with the hotel conference and events staff to guide, train and mentor them to provide the level of service required
- Plan and execute a weekly events meeting with all hotel stakeholders to ensure clear communication throughout the hotel on every event
- Be up to date on Meeting Planner systems and offers, sell the membership to all clients and meet hotel targets for member revenues
- Use email, BEO and any form of communication necessary to ensure the above outcomes on service delivery

Specific Requirements

- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate with impact across all levels.
- Relevant experience ideally within premium or luxury markets.
- Experience of managing contracts, responding to RFPs is preferred.
- Strong user knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, CRM tools (ANAIS), Excel.
