The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, working with more than 150 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and Mainland China, is committed to advancing patient service, research, training and education to the highest possible standard in all major areas of ophthalmology and visual sciences. The appointee(s) will (a) develop and implement IT projects; (b) maintain existing hardware and software systems, as well as assist in the development of new applications; (c) provide end-user support for in-house applications and office automation; (d) update websites; (e) manage the inventory record and database; (f) provide training and helpdesk services to end users; and (g) perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Applicants should have (i) a Diploma/Certificate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) good analytical, organisational and communication skills; (iii) proficiency in various operating system environments, including Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, etc; (iv) the ability to work independently and as a team member; and (v) the ability to multi-task, including dealing with system users. At least 1 to 2 years’ relevant work experience are preferred. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
Appointment will initially be made on a 1- or 2-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
