Computer Assistant II(s)

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, working with more than 150 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and Mainland China, is committed to advancing patient service, research, training and education to the highest possible standard in all major areas of ophthalmology and visual sciences. The appointee(s) will (a) install and configure computer hardware and software; (b) troubleshoot computer hardware and software problem; (c) update websites; (d) assist in inventory management; (e) provide helpdesk services to end users; and (f) perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) experience in handling computer installation and assembling; (iv) knowledge in LAN and MS Windows System; (v) good PC skills in MS office, Chinese word-processing, PowerPoint, Excel and Access; and (vi) the ability to work independently and as a team member. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

Appointment will initially be made on a 1- or 2-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
