As a Component Engineer, you will be responsible for the global new projects components sourcing and development, be the key contact for internal/external stakeholders including commercial purchasing, R&D, quality, project manager, product manager, etc., in Process Automation Business Area in Hangzhou, China.
Reporting to the Global Procurement & Logistics Manager, you will take full accountability for the project components strategy deployment to ensure on product and corporate level business continuous success.
Your responsibilities
- Leading global new product development process component /vendor qualification activities.
- Supporting parts purchase for prototype, alpha, pilot runs and supporting initial production to the meeting project schedule. Leading new product CBOM health check and release control on all components in a product
- Performing component market research and support hardware engineer for new component selection and replacement investigation, RFQ handling, and quotation analysis.
- Monitoring and collaborating on PCN/PDN/LTB issues related to components in global products
- Implementing and following up tasks related to RoHS/Ex/UL. Etc. certification for global products
- Qualifying and implementing primary and secondary electrical and mechanical component source opportunities to secure long-term product lifetime in the market.
- Developing and implementing tools to improve global project sourcing/purchasing productivity
- Pricing analysis and negotiation with the supplier to meet the target price for NPD project. Managing and maintaining commodity database with in-time new component info update
Your background
- 3 years of practical experience in electrical components engineering, proven experience in the industrial business area is an advantage
- Good functional knowledge of electronic components such as electrical and electromechanical components and semiconductor technology
- Excellent in office software incl. Excel, PPT, Power BI, etc.
- Good understanding of business practices, market dynamics, and trends
- Good negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- A Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Fluency in written and spoken English/Chinese
