Commnications Manager - Oracle Nordics

  • This position will drive a fully integrated communications agenda for Oracle’s cloud technologies as well as promoting and protecting Oracle’s reputation in the Nordics. 
  • Tightly linked with Marketing and Sales functions, the role will create, integrate and execute communications programs to support the business and provide strategic communications counsel. 
  • As a key role within Oracle EMEA Corporate Communications this position will report to the Communications Director, EMEA. The position will be based in Stockholm (but candidates wanting to be based in other locations will be considered). 
  • This role is to drive outcomes in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The balance of priorities varies by business line and over time.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Set the communications strategy to support Oracle’s overarching business priorities (CEO, CMO, CHRO, CFO AND CIO audience) with an objective to establish Oracle as the regional market leader in the Cloud.
  • Provide expert counsel in combining traditional and social communications programs into a single cohesive approach to build credibility and demonstrate leadership.
  • Drive measurable collaboration across Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand Communications to ensure key communications plans, narratives and content deliverables are used to maximum effect.
  • Assess and deliver robust multi-channel media and social customer engagement programs with a focus on content, placement, engagement and value.
  • Identify and help shape interactions with Oracle Nordic’s influencer communities by surrounding them with a dynamic flow of news, opinion, commentary and expertise.
  • Assist in crisis management and response plans for Oracle’s communications on issues originating in the region.
  • Direct and manage PR agency resources to create successful integrated campaigns supporting priority audiences – CEO, CMO, CHRO, CFO, CIO – and the Oracle brand
  • Monitoring competition activity and making strategic recommendations.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Degree qualification is not required but, over and above specialist skills, the candidate must demonstrate drive, initiative, common sense and a get-up-and-go attitude to be successful in this role.
  • This role must be filled by an outstanding professional, passionate about communications with an interest in learning and delivering results, with minimum 10 years’ experience.  Some of this time should have been in a leadership role within a corporate entity or a leading communications agency.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills; a solid understanding of the B2B technology industry; deep understanding of the business and technology media landscape in Iberia and proven corporate communications and social media expertise. 
  • Experience of working within a global enterprise and counselling senior management in a dynamic environment are essentials and a high degree of personal initiative, collaboration and written communication skills are key.
  • Experience with paid amplification of owned and earned content and management of paid influencer activity
Development of communication programs to promote Oracle's products & services.

Integrate advertising into the marketing campaigns, exercising judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for best practice / creative solution. As a recognized authority and leading contributor maintain regular interface between the division and Corporate. Plan and manage pan-geography corporate and local campaign media plans. Plan, manage and implement corporate and local campaign advertising creative. Manage tier 2 local advertising and arrange sign off with Corporate. Integrate all advertising across the communications mix. Maintain and communicate brand advertising guidelines. Oversee partner advertising. Develop and manage brand communications audit. Measure advertising effectiveness.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years relevant work experience. A proven track record in advertising across line-of-business and/or geography as an account manager, with experience of creative production and media buying.
