Description:
The Trials Organization is a highly strategic, customer-centric team within Oracle’s Asia Pacific & Japan Sales division. This new team is responsible for providing a white-glove onboarding experience onto Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for all customers enrolled in an Oracle Cloud Trial.
The goal of the trials team is to help customers drive successful Cloud adoption and leverage Oracle’s unique Universal Credit Model. The trials team is a technical sales organization focusing on converting and closing customer trials to paid Universal Credit consumption via PAYG or Annual Flex models.
With a solid understanding of OCI and Cloud Computing, you will help customers onboard and fast track their OCI adoption by helping them leverage OCI to address their business and technical requirements.
This key role requires a unique mix of technical and sales skills. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor, sharing best practices and Oracle Cloud solution expertise, provide inspirational customer experience, helping JAPAC customers remotely/online through their Cloud adoption journey. Responsibilities
- The trail specialists is responsible for OCI awareness, adoption and revenue through Oracle’s Free Tier, by converting trial accounts to Pay As You Go or Annual Subscription across all market segments in JAPAC
- Advance early-stage opportunities by confirming customer business cases, developing proof of value through the sales cycle, leveraging technical Demos, Hand-On Labs, hosting workshops, etc.
- Proactively engage with and support PAYG/Trial users using latest technologies.
- Be the first point of contact for Oracle IaaS and PaaS Trial users.
- Understand trial user evaluation criteria, their current environment and provide a comprehensive comparison of Oracle IaaS and PaaS offerings.
- Run walkthroughs of Oracle Cloud, and showcase OCI ease of use and automation
- Guide customers on best practices and use cases to accelerate Cloud adoption.
- Technical support for the cloud trial, facilitating the outcome via interaction with backend support teams.
Ideal Candidate:
- Ideal candidate has a passion for technology, sales and understands the value of customer experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Technical Sales role.
- Closing sales experience is recommended. Owning all parts of the sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Proven ability to engage with senior business executives, IT and developer personas; strong communications skills to develop and cultivate lasting customer relationships.
- Excellent customer engagement skills: listening, understanding, demonstrating, presenting, and verbal and written communication, to effectively demonstrate Oracle PaaS and IaaS solutions.
- Solid understanding of Cloud Computing, and strong understanding of public cloud technologies and solutions from competitors.
- Experience in qualifying solution requirements and providing and architectural recommendations.
- 3+ years of experience in technical role (solution consultant, engineer, presales, IT specialist) with public cloud technology as it is adopted by IT departments, lines of business and developers.
- Hands-on skills with developer frameworks, CI/CD & build automation tooling (Chef, Terraform, Ansible, etc)
- Hands-on Linux and/or KVM experience is preferable.
- Candidate will have at least one Associate level certification from either AWS, Azure or GCP Cloud.
- Candidate will be required to achieve OCI Architect Professional certification, and thus would benefit from OCI Associate level certifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong prioritization skills for volume business.
- Team player who will work within the company to continue improving the way Oracle serves its clients.
Partners with Account, Technology, and Application sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years field sales experience. Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Understanding of software and consulting arenas. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed. BA/BS degree in related field.
