We are looking for a cloud software development intern to join our Cloud Technology Group who is passionate about their work, has enthusiasm for learning, and who takes satisfaction in writing clean code that produces smart solutions. This position will be on-site in our West Lafayette, IN office. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with the team to build high-quality software that meets the needs of our team and customers. We’re a team of doers, not afraid to try new stuff—new software, new languages, new tools, new technologies. Together we learn, create, iterate, test, and ultimately deliver cutting-edge solutions which delight our customers. We are looking for a developer who is excited to join our team, to work hard and learn quickly along with us as we develop innovative device-to-cloud products and solutions.

 

Specific Responsibilities / Duties 

  • The candidate will join the team in designing and implementing software for ADI device-to-cloud products solutions, including development of new features, unit tests, and bug fixes.
  • They will communicate effectively with key stakeholders to produce solutions.
  • Learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and methodologies to solve technical problems most effectively.
  • Learn and execute full lifecycle software development, from conception to delivery.
  • Write clean code with a focus on quality and testability.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Perform periodical tests and debugging to maximize program efficiency.
  • Leverage software version control systems, issue trackers, wikis, and other collaboration tools.
  • Document and maintain software functionality.

 

Skills/Education Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) in progress and in good standing
  • Programming - Familiar with object-oriented programming concepts, with some hands-on experience crafting software using common programming languages and software libraries
  • Version control systems - Hands-on experience using Git and GitHub, or other similar software version control systems
  • Easy to work with - Comfortable collaborating with a team, always open to having your opinion changed by someone else’s expertise, always focused on the bigger picture
  • Outside-the-box thinker - Able and willing to think creatively to discover or design solutions which are not immediately obvious
  • Continuous learner - Always seeking to learn and grow, knowing that there is always far more to be learned than what is already known
