JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a motivated sales individual who can represent our digital cloud platform portfolio (PaaS/IaaS on-premises SW) and help our customers on their digital transformation journeys, who have growing data volumes and aggressive service-level expectations, to maximize the potential of their IT and Business organizations while delivering the real-time enterprise. The Public Sector Director provides an executive presence for the customer relationships and plays a critical role in driving our customer's digital transformation journey.

Experiences Required\: Education, Key Experiences, Skills, and Knowledge\:

Strong sales and business background centered on software technologies combined with deep understanding of key Public Sector industry solutions and competitive technologies.
Seven (7) plus years of industry-related experience with three (3) plus years of dealing with Public Sector customers in government 
Strong experience in direct Enterprise software sales, including Cloud Service experience and relevant direct Sales experience
Building and growing strong Public Sector customer and partner executive relationships to earn their trust and loyalty.
Achievement of quota sustainably, growth year-over year.
Extensive experience in working with high-performing sales individuals and software partners is required.
Strong business planning and business discipline skills woven with ability to develop and implement targeted plans in your allocated territory.
Ability to identify, nurture, and drive digital transformation deals with all Public Sector customers.
Must have a passion for Public Sector sales and solution selling, solid leadership and be customer satisfaction obsessed.
Maintain and grow sales and revenue from existing and new clients and secure profit contribution by managing, establishing and accomplishing business objectives. 
Formulate and execute strategic plan in the allocated accounts. 
Represent the company and understand government calendar legislative sessions, committee meetings as well as a good understanding of medium-term expenditure (METF) framework and departmental budget votes cycle. 
Promote the company at local, regional and national constituencies.
Constantly attempt to grow profit levels through innovative ideas, new business and client spend enhancement.
Proven track record in target driven sales achievements in Public Sector Sales segments i.e. SOEs, National, Provincial & Local Govt. 
Experience in developing sustainable and public sector appropriate partnership to scale successfully in the market. 
Good understanding of different legislations around POPI, Data sovereignty, government cloud policy standpoint as well as the SITA act.

Key Performance AREA (Objectives)\: 
Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts and program updates, while ensuring that pipeline/funnel development activities aligns with sales strategy and business objectives 
Develop all business opportunities that are strategic from a revenue perspective or complex in nature, requiring high-level complex selling skills. 
Focus on segment planning including revenue (and profit) and product forecasts for the customer base as well as for the major customers. 
Provide end to end revenue assurance with pipeline forecast, including expected demand for the business on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 
Work closely with internal teams - technical, commercial, product management and other support teams to ensure close link between customer requirements and our ability to deliver excellent service.

!|!Sells a subset of product or services directly or via partners to a large number of named accounts/non-named accounts/geographical territory (mainly Tier 3 accounts).

Primary job duty is to sell technology software products and related services in a defined territory. Identifies, qualifies and closes new opportunities. Manages accounts including the entire sales process from business development prospecting and specifications through contract negotiations, signing, and post-sales support. Leverages the Oracle sales model to maximize revenue growth and increase local market share. Builds and expands business partner revenue and self sufficiency.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years applicable experience including 7 years of technology sales experience. Ability to forecast, manage sales expenses, and successfully close new Oracle business. Business development, prospecting and presentation skills. Excellent communication skills and problem solving ability. Proven track record of exceeding sales objective and territory/account development. Experience as the focal point for clients for all sales and related issues. Oracle knowledge and/or knowledge of Oracle*s competitors. Travel may be needed. Bachelor degree or equivalent.
