Job Description

SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

Careers and Employability Centre (under Quality Enhancement Support Scheme Fund)

The School of Continuing Education is one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and is a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong. With the support of EDB Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) Fund, the School plans to establish a School-wide Careers and Employability Centre (CEC) to enhance the institutional capacity and support to improve students’ employability skills and career readiness, and to cultivate an institutional culture to promote employability skills. Applications are now invited for the following position:

The appointee is required to formulate and oversee administrative framework and development plan of the CEC, lead and manage day-to-day operation of the CEC with the Project Implementation Team. He/She will also (i) oversee the development of the CEC’s website, mobile app and mini-videos; (ii) liaise with various internal parties including academic divisions, programme staff and relevant committee, and external bodies; (iii) monitor and evaluate the activities, programmes and services of the CEC for reporting to the Management and to QESS; and (iv) supervise staff and monitor the centre budget.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience, preferably with one year’s experience at supervisory level. He/She should have excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); effective communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills; proficiency in computer applications including MS Office application (English and Chinese); and good knowledge in compiling statistical data and managing social media platforms. Experience in managing career/ student-related centre and organising career development activities, and knowledge of using of Adobe Illustrator/ Adobe Photoshop and webpage design will be an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

The appointee will be required to serve on Shatin Shek Mun Campus.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
