Cell Culture Technology Expert (m/f/d)

Job Description

The Drug Substance Technologies Group has expertise and competencies in operation, characterization and design of biopharmaceutical cell culture upstream and downstream technologies applied in the regulated industry. A main task of the Cell Culture Technology Expert (m/f/d) will be the application of appropriate technologies, with a focus on the production of cell therapy and viral vector products.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Be accountable for the set-up and execution of cell culture (e.g. antibody, viral vector) and/or cell therapy projects in a development laboratory
    environment by applying state of the art technologies (e.g. submerse, adherent bioreactors)
  • Characterization of the devices used with biotechnological and engineering methods
  • Take over a leading role in cross-functional project teams and ensure alignment with other functions (Development, MSAT, Production) as needed
  • Propose alternative bioreactor designs and processing concepts
  • Realize technical optimization potentials (e.g. automation) and robustness measures
  • Scouting of new technologies and platforms
  • Continuously strive for technology excellence in the field

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • University Degree in biotechnology or bioprocess engineering with focus on fermentation technologies or related fields, PhD is of advantage
  • Long-term working experience in the field of biotechnology, applying standard cell culture (e.g. antibody, viral vector, stem cells) and respective
    analytical techniques
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience of cell culture techniques
  • General knowledge about design of pharmaceutical production processes (USP and DSP)
  • General knowledge of cGMP rules and regulatory agencies requirements (FDA, EMA, etc.)
  • Enjoy developing and implementing innovative ideas and creative concepts
  • Be open-minded and ambitious and have a structured working method to drive own initiatives in a cross-cultural environment
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
