Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by working with IT functions to provide high level BI expertise and manage IT solution to support consolidation, reporting, forecasting and budgeting. Be as key player in planning, modeling and forecast. Manage system evolution and modeling initiative. Acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop comprehensive data system architecture to support the creation of conceptual models, combination models, taxonomy analysis and multi-source data fusion for corporate information platform.
• Maintain the quality standards, traceability and structure of the data and information collected.
• Act as the interface between the business intelligence team and the IT personnel supporting the creation of flexible databases allowing profiling the information under different perspectives.
• Identifies needs for, and manages contract resources to meet resource demand.
• Identifies opportunities for new technology capabilities and implementation of technology-specific development processes and standards.
• Leads and participates as a project team member in design, specification, development and test phases of projects
• Ensure compliance with operational / change management guidelines
• Continuously seek for areas of improvement: participate in the evolution of technical solution to integrate new modules, adapt modeling, adjust processes, optimize processing time

Summary of Experience

• 5+ years of BI and data solution management experience
• Solid experience as a project manager/lead
• Experience in leading several full life cycle financial planning solution and have an understanding of all aspects of an implementation project including, but not limited to, planning, analysis and design, configuration, development, conversions
• Good analytical and troubleshooting experience on above
• Experience of No-SQL database and Hadoop preferred
• Experience of Microsoft BI preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, math or science preferred.
• Experience in leading several full life cycle data solution and have an understanding of all aspects of an implementation project including, but not limited to, planning, analysis and design, configuration, development, conversions
• Excellent database performance tuning skills and SQL code tuning skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail and an ability to follow process
• Experience in implementing and deploying Business Intelligence components in enterprise configuration such as Microsoft BI, Oracle BI, etc.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Impala
• Good team working skills but equally has to be capable of working alone
• Demonstrate strong personal and organizational communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent English and Mandarin communication skill, both oral and written
