As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Hub Division management team in the definition and implementation of respective strategy - in line with global Division vision, mission and strategy. Ensuring comprehensive understanding of local market and competitive environment. Drive realization of prioritized e-commerce opportunities for local specific market segments, for Process Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China.

Reporting to the Local/Hub Division Manager, you will be supporting the Hub Division management in identification and realization of other business opportunities in line with global Division strategies.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the management in translating global strategies into local ones and in defining local implementation actions. Providing inputs to global strategy development, based on good understanding of local needs
  • Developing good understanding of the local markets, competitive environments and ABB position. Deriving strategic insights from these, developing appropriate communications for the key audiences and communicating outputs effectively to the right people
  • Working with the Hub Division management in identification and prioritization of new business opportunities in line with global strategic priorities, based on good understanding of local situation and global business strategies.
  • Driving realization of prioritized e-commerce opportunities for local specific market segments, with good analysis on China’s leading e-commerce platforms for sales and leading online marketplaces for services such as Alibaba, JD, PDD and Meituan etc., by learning from/exploring their on-demand delivery network with huge numbers of deliverymen/delivery riders and digital solutions/mobile web applications
  • Identifying partnership opportunities and participates in the definition of partnership agreements
  • Collaborating with all related internal contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of the respective local business strategy. Identifying and promoting local business-led collaboration opportunities/needs

Your background

  • 3+ years’ experience in e-commerce related Sales / Marketing /Operations
  • Proficient in platform business
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication skills including use of Wind, Excel, Python, Word and Power Point etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, initiative and ingenuity to solve complex problems and implement remedial measures
  • Must refocus on prospect perceptions
  • Applying modern influencing techniques for sales and marketing strategies
