Purpose of the position

This is an exciting opportunity for an existing Business Development Executive to join our team! 

Three main objectives in this role:

  • Generation of leads for a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) developing standardization services opportunities with clients. To qualify leads by making initial contact with prospects to assess needs and agree next steps.
  • To maximize the impact and reach of our activities by developing and implementing GTM plans for priority outputs. To develop and maintain a framework for post project delivery account management.
  • To manage relationship with PR and Marketing teams for all Standards Solutions activities.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Qualification of leads: act as first point of contact for prospects generated by lead generation activities. Initial qualification of leads and handover of leads as appropriate.
  • Lead generation: work across BSI Group to promote the services and support lead generation by other customer facing teams. Monitor and report on volume of leads generated and conversion rates. Typical activities include:
    • Work across BSI to raise awareness of Standards Solutions services and generate leads from other external facing teams; planning and executing of communications plans to ensure all customer facing teams can identify new opportunities and know how to refer them as leads.
    • Collaboration with colleagues (BDMs, market development teams, marketing, engagement team) and clients to generate new content to support lead generation. Eg case studies, testimonials, news updates, etc. Content and collateral will be used in a range of lead generation activities including marketing campaigns, engagement through social media, industry events, PR campaigns, etc.
    • Liaise with marketing to run lead generation campaigns. Monitor effectiveness of campaigns and qualify leads arising from the campaigns prior to handover to BDM.
    • Manage the Standards Solutions team’s presence in key social media forums related to defined client scenarios and industry issues. Qualify leads that are generated and handover to the BDMs.
    • Responsible for maintaining BSI Standards Solution’s web pages in collaboration with marketing.
    • Co-ordinating the Standards Solutions team’s internal comms activities to generate leads from other client-facing colleagues.
  • PAS GoToMarket (GTM): for priority PASs, develop a GTM plan and manage the delivery of plans in collaboration with other teams (Content Solutions, Standards Policy, Marketing, PR, Sector teams, Distributor Sales) and clients to manage the delivery of GTM plan.
  • Post project account management: co-ordination of post project account management activities, providing a framework for regular and timely interaction across all accounts.
  • Management of PAS portfolio: to identify opportunities for revision of PASs or withdrawal.
  • Marketing and PR: manage relationship with marketing and PR teams, ensuring timely flow of information about all Standards Solutions activity.

About You

  • Customer-focused (internal & external), with a consultative approach to understanding customer requirements and issues.
  • Experience of working directly (face to face and remotely) with clients.
  • Experience of working cross-functionally and effectively sharing knowledge with colleagues, with positive end results for clients and the business.
  • Experience of qualification of leads and handover to Sales team members.
  • Experience of managing the generation of content to promote products and services (eg case studies, white papers).
  • Excellent presentation skills (verbal, written and formal)
  • IT literate
  • Research skills, with ability to develop research methodologies and provide insight and overviews from large data sets.
  • Proven ability to engage successfully with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Independent problem solving and proactive development of solutions
