In this role, you will:
The principal responsibility of the Business Analyst is to manage the analysis of processes in HSBC and to oversee and manage all or some of the associated activities during change implementation. They may be located in a variety of areas of HSBC, they may be located in projects as well as in established BAU teams. It is possible that the Business Analyst works on multiple projects simultaneously.
Business Analysts may have reports – these may be junior Business Analysts or support staff.
Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
  • Capturing, analysing and documenting of business process (including IT processes)
  • Designing of solutions or change interventions
  • Managing change activities which can include diverse tasks such as timeline planning to stakeholder engagement
  • Devising change interventions such as training and communication
  • Managing the tracking and documenting progress and managing status reporting
  • Implementing solutions
  • Managing support staff, ensuring resources are utilised effectively and resource supply meets demand.
Qualifications To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
The jobholder main job context is:
  • Support Department Head to build the BA team.
  • Drive BA team to work with users throughout HSBC Insurance, and other departments of the Bank if necessary. Compromise and consensuses must be reached and based upon realistic business needs, user requirements, and cost and benefit analysis.
  • Liaison with users throughout the business is essential to maintain an understanding of the business problems and constraints, and potential areas of benefit and risk. Audit principles, IT technical guidelines, and company rules must be complied.
  • Conduct the effective testing process for projects.
The major challenges are:
  • To lead the team to dig out, analyze and consolidate user requirements exhaustively to the extent that the requirement is concisely and accurately to present the essence of the business requirements to support the company such that they are communicated precisely to IT implementation teams for the system development.
  • To have substantial business and system knowledge to drive project under business constraints, to formulate efficient and cost effective solution or system requirement that balance the needs of business, operations, and audit, within business and resource constraints.
  • To improve the BA team productivity and do the right commitments to business teams and IT teams.
