Job Description
Job Title: Boarding Matron
Department: Non-academic
Supervisor: Boarding Mistress
Main Purpose:
To support the Boarding Mistress to create a safe, happy, caring, supportive and well-disciplined atmosphere throughout the boarding house. The Boarding House Matron provides a source of pastoral care and deals with the general welfare and health of the pupils within the house in addition to that provided by the Boarding Mistress, Assistant Housemistress and other staff. The Boarding Matron manages all staff who provide all the services to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment including ensuring all the laundry and bedding is processed accordingly and any maintenance work is completed to a good standard. They are essential to the smooth running of boarding in ensuring high standards are met.
Mission Statement:To make all pupils aware of the Wellington College Vision and Mission Statements, its values, identity and ethos etc, to live the core values of kindness, courage, integrity, responsibility and respect and to promote these within the student and specifically boarding population.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Proven success of working with young people
- Health and Safety, SEN, Child Protection.
- ICT Literate.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Full driving licence
- Management matters relating to pupils
