Job Description

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
  • Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
  • Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience required: 5+ years of experience in Data Integration, Data Architecture, ETL Architecture, Design and Development using Ab Initio with good experience on Oracle database, 1 year of Big data ( Hadoop, Apache Spark, Hive, Hue, Query IT, Avro, Parquet) and Rules engines.

    Business area Knowledge is plus : Development of Resolution Planning systems, Finance & Treasury Regulatory reporting in wholesale and Retail business, CCAR schedules, Experience in Broker Dealer P&L and Balance sheet calculation systems, Capital adequacy ratios.

    • Skills required:

    Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (any), or related field.

    Must have experience in Architecture, Design and Development of Ab Initio ETL and Data Management solutions including ability to understand the internal working of variety of Ab Initio components.

    Must have experience in delivering Metadata management strategy and reusable Ab Initio solutions using Ab Initio’s technical and business metadata components.

    Must have experience creating highly efficient reusable frameworks and design patterns in Ab Initio. Must have experience with performance tuning techniques in Ab Initio. Must have demonstrated knowledge across full suite of Ab Initio toolsets e.g. GDE, EME, BRE, Express>It, Data Profiler and Conduct>It.

    Must have ability to conceptualize and advocate best practices, standards and procedures in delivering highly efficient solutions using Ab Initio.

    Must have practical experience with number of techniques involved in ETL and Data integration space including ability to Design highly efficient end-to-end large scale ETL solutions.

    Must have experience in data management functions including data governance, data design, master data management, metadata management, and data quality management working on a global team.
