POSITION PURPOSE

To serve guest in a courteous, polite and efficient manner.  To maintain the image of fine quality and excellent service at all times.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for complete set-up, service and breakdown of functions from the laying of tablecloths through the final stripping off of dirty linen.

5%

  • Organizes and maintains cleanliness in banquet storage and service area.  Report any discrepancies regarding service area and equipment to the Banquet Captain.

10%

  • Uses the Catering order as a guide, sets up according to established departmental procedures.

5%

  • Attends pre-function meeting with supervisors and clarifies any questions with regard to service of food and beverage.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

  • Reports all special requests or complaints to the Captain or Manager.
  • Performs side duties as assigned by the Captain or Manager.
  • Is responsible for the cleanliness and organization of Banquet linen and Storeroom.
  • Knows, understands and enforces objectives, policies, standards and procedures set forth by the Catering Manager or Banquet Manager.

OTHER

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which have been established by the hotel from time to time is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action procedures up to and including termination of employments.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe efficient operation of the hotel facilities.  Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

 

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

  • Knowledgeable of food and beverage service
  • Knowledge of current liquor laws
  • Ability to lift heavy trays (25lbs)

 

QUALIFICATIONS & STANDARDS

EXPERIENCE

  • Waithelp experience

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  • Liquor Commission Card

GROOMING

  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
