JOB SUMMARY
China is a key strategic market for Pfizer and Pfizer China is currently the number 1 MNC pharmaceutical company in China - enjoying strong growth and leading market share. However, we aspire to meet the unmet healthcare needs of more and more patients in China and we are determined to aggressively increase our market share through inorganic growth. The Pfizer China Business Development team reports to the Worldwide Business Development (WWBD) organization, and is charged with building commercial partnerships with other companies and organizations to: expand the Pfizer China inline and pipeline portfolio in a manner that aligns with Chinese unmet health care needs
expand Pfizer’s overall capabilities and presence in China
and add incremental revenue to our baseline plan. The team completed a series of strong partnerships and we are determined to build on this momentum. The BD Manager / Senior Manager will be a key driver of our inorganic growth strategy, including identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships and/or M&A deals.
KEY RESULT AREAS & JOB ACTIVITIES /TASKS
- Working closely with the Sales, Marketing and Medical teams to develop BD portfolio strategy in key therapeutic areas and evaluate business development opportunities
- As the project leader, coordinating in-licensing, out-licensing, strategic alliance, co-promotion and other business development activities with internal stakeholders and potential partners
- Leading and driving all aspects of deal making including sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, closure and alliance management
- Analyzing new business development opportunities for the Pfizer China Leadership Team and Pfizer HQ on an ad hoc basis
- Working with China and HQ colleagues to develop robust business cases that drive go/no-go decisions by leadership
- Actively building networking within the industry and exploring collaboration opportunities

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
- Good understanding of China biopharmaceutical industry, key therapeutic areas
- Good understanding of business development process including tools employed to conduct opportunity analysis, due diligence, financial statement analysis, financial valuation and financial modeling/ROI analysis
- Strong analytical capability and finance knowledge
- Successful track record in Business Development and existing BD networking in the industry is a must
- Successful pharmaceutical Marketing, new product planning is a plus
- Mature, independent, self-starter
- Strong coordination/communication skills with demonstrated ability to work and lead cross functional teams
- Excellent written and oral communication both in Mandarin and English
- Bachelor degree in medical, biology, pharmacology or business related areas
MBA candidate preferred
- At least 5 years experiences in the industry or related areas
