Our client is Digital Dao, a start-up Russian firm focusing on consulting services in strategy, market entry, advertisement, cross boarder e-commerce and adaptation. The company has exclusive partnership with Russian Internet giant Mail.Ru and they are helping Chinese customers to maximise their coverage in Russia and Europe and improve ROMI (return on marketing investment). Currently Digital Dao is operating from 2 offices in Moscow and Shanghai with a global IT team, who has the market knowledge and experience to fully understand the culture of their clients and capability provide them with fully tailor-made creative solutions.

As one of the rising providers of marketing and creative solutions, Digital Dao is looking to further penetrate the booming China market and hire a Business Development Director. The job will require solid experience in developing the business with China based clients in Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Retail, Luxury or Personal Care & Wellness industries. Understanding of Digital, Inbound/Outbound Advertisement & Performance Marketing solutions, as well as proficiency in Russian/Chinese would be a great plus.

As a Business Development Director you would be expected to make continuous efforts in covering new sales leads and attracting new clients while supporting the Company's goals and values and aiming to establish an excellent working relationship with assigned customers.

More specific responsibilities will include:

  • Define the yearly New Business Development plan, with clear targets in terms of Client's profile and billing, in synergy with the team;
  • Generate revenue, expand the client base and drive the profitability of the business;
  • Be curious about targeted sectors news, dynamics and evolution, and regularly exchange point of view with Partners;
  • Understand our business (Digital & Advertisement) to be able to talk about it, and be able to identify prospect's specific needs;
  • Cooperate closely with Russian Tech team;
  • Evaluate prospect's profile in collaboration with Partners (analyse time/cost/profitability and estimate the growth potential);
  • Negotiate contracts with Clients (especially: budget, payment terms) to the best interest of the company (in terms of profitability and cash flow);
  • Manage the Agency's actions of communication: participate to relay the content prepared by the planning team on social media platforms (LinkedIn, WeChat, Weibo), help to update the content of SH Business;

Successful candidate profile should include:

  • 5-10 years of experience in the relevant industry, solid understanding of China digital landscape;
  • Experience in cross-boarder e-commerce, market entry services or advertisement solutions would be a plus;
  • Strong connections with clients in Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Retail, Luxury or Personal Care & Wellness industries;
  • Hands-on experience in Business Development and New Client Acquisition.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level;
  • High level of punctuality and responsibility;
  • Patience and understanding of cultural differences, ability to work with an international team;
  • Commercial mind set and ability to prioritise;
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills, ability to manage customer's expectations;
  • Mature mindset, stability and motivation for the long run;
  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required. Knowledge of Russian language would be a great plus;
