Over the course of two years, the TDP participant will complete four x 6-month rotations, with the option to combine two rotations into a single 12 month rotation.  The rotations will be based in Research and Development at Baxter’s Round Lake, IL, and Deerfield, IL, locations.  Participants can optionally have the opportunity to travel to or work from other Baxter Research and Development sites across the globe.

Participants are required to complete two rotations in core Research and Development teams, supporting both New Product Development (designing, developing and qualifying new medical devices and generic pharmaceuticals) and Sustaining Product Support (improving products, processes and the quality of products).  Participants will also exercise their core technical expertise and support at least two business units.  Optionally, participants may complete a rotation in exploratory R&D, manufacturing, quality or service roles.

In addition to rotational work experience, participants will have a senior leader mentor, a wide support network including technical rotation mentors and TDP alumni, and access to Baxter R&D executives.

Throughout the two-year program, participants will also be trained in Baxter business acumen, gain an in-depth understand of the Product Development Lifecycle, develop leadership competencies, and learn about relevant cross-functional teams across Baxter.

After two years, participants will be well-prepared to graduate from the program and earn a non-rotational position in Research and Development at Baxter.  After completion of the two-year program, the TDP Alumni Association will provide developmental opportunities to encourage continual learning and preparation for advanced levels of contribution and effectiveness within R&D.
