Our location in Lake Forest, IL currently has an opportunity for a Associate Program Manager, Capital Planning. This position will work regularly with the manufacturing sites, R&D, Commercial, Quality and other functions to ensure alignment of the Capital Plan to Business strategy and execution to Plan. This position reports to the Sr Engineering Manager, Capital Planning of ADD Core Laboratories Division Engineering.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • This position will manage, review multiple, diverse and global project Request for Capital Expenditures (RCEs), supporting summary documents, Supplemental Requests etc. with critical milestones including responsibility for the first gate keeper to continue smooth RCE process flow as well as the tracking and trending of capital related metrics within the capital planning group.
  • Consults with key stakeholders to develop project requirements, Capital spending, Project closure, tracks performance to project plans.
  • Support the team for project execution with Global Regions by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing contingency plans.
  • Manager Capital spending expenditures, identifies systemic problems, and makes recommendations for resolution.
  • Reports and communicates project requirements, status, and performance to Capital Planning/Sr. Leadership team(s) by preparing standard reports and participating in departmental and cross-functional project status reviews.
  • Regularly meets with teams to identify and plan continuous improvement initiatives, hold project status reviews, and participate in the execution of local initiatives.
  • Support project closure process and asset lifecycle management as business need. Support creation of shopping cart and Purchase orders as needed.
  • Must have proven ability to participate in team atmosphere, exhibit and create a sense of appropriate urgency and maintain working relationships, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to leadership.
  • Training and Guide others as needed as far as RCEs write ups and requirements for summary document creation and rational documentations.
  • Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, as well as industry trends.
  • Develops and identifies “Best Practices” in the area of capital planning and works to train/implement with local teams as needed.
  • Development and delivery of standardized reporting, ad-hoc reporting, and proactive business analysis.
  • Develops strong, positive working relationships with local leadership, team members and other personnel this position will interact with on a regular basis.
  • Represents the Capital Planning team as point of contact for initiatives and programs surrounding capital planning, interacting with key stakeholders (Management, Sales, Marketing, Program Management, Product Development, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer) to ensure that project objectives, schedules, and deliverables are established and met.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, PMO, Engineering and Manufacturing Leadership and other Functional Leads
  • Adapts to changing business strategies and evolves capital asset planning accordingly.
  • Review all documents related to each RCE for data accuracy, errors, consistency, and interacts and communicates with different levels of the organization to ensure timely review and approval of capital requests to support business needs.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate to ensure expectations of all RCE documents are met for quality, constancy and timeliness.
  • Consults with internal capital and program management groups, leveraging and sharing best-practices knowledge to continuously improve the process and assisting in capital management processes and techniques
  • Exercises judgment independently

​EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline appropriate to the project environment with minimum five years relevant experience, one year of which must be in leadership/project management roles.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in areas such as: experience with project management, complex financial information.
  • Strong project experience and an ability to influence others is essential.
  • Experience working in high-volume manufacturing, preferably in medical device, diagnostics, or regulated industry
  • Have a strong, manufacturing and financial background, including experience in manufacturing and equipment capital projects
  • Demonstrated level of communications both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated high levels of flexibility to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Ability to coordinate all aspects of a capital planning
  • Strong integration skills; ability to coordinate all aspects of a project
