Associate Director, Data & Analytics [BTS, Operations Business Insights(OBI)] Description: The role of the Associate Director, Data & Analytics within OBI is to lead the team to closely partner with our respective business and functional BTS stakeholders and contribute to the design, development and implementation of data acquisition, Warehousing and Visualizations of business processes supporting Quality, External Contract Manufacturing and Science & Technology departments. The leader in this role will work closely with the above-mentioned departments to ensure that the software and information systems developed within OBI meet the needs of our Business community and aligns with the business/applications roadmaps. This person will collaborate closely with our business partners to help set the strategy and direction for these roadmaps. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Management, Relationship building and Accountability: Collaborate with cross-functional Business and BTS stakeholders to successfully plan and deliver strategic programs in the Quality, Science & Technology and External Contract Manufacturing functional areas. Uses technical consulting skills, expertise and collaboration to translate business needs for technology delivery teams including vendor partners. Interacts well with diverse groups across business and technology functions and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators. Direct a team to manage a project portfolio of projects; leveraging experience to anticipate risk and drive continuous improvement on communication and execution. Negotiates, secures, oversees and ensures that resources are available to meet the long-range operational demands of the business area. Ensure that project estimates and timelines are complete, comprehensive, and risk tolerant. Drive continuous improvements in cost and throughput of the team. Techno-Functional Consulting, Budget Management & Influence: Makes contributions to identifying overall process and/or technology improvements. Recommends cost-savings initiatives and drafts BTS workplan for approved initiatives. Educate IT and business stakeholders on the existing technical capabilities already in-place, technology in use within AbbVie BTS and trends in market Determines alternative delivery mechanisms as needed. Oversees and controls team’s(~ 10 Onsite and ~ 15 Offshore) budget, project capital / RCE expenditures & ROI. Develops, monitors and meets expense and recovery plans. Continually looks for opportunities for cost avoidance and cost reductions. Manages IT investment for multiple functions. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Aligns system strategies in support of corporation & business area vision, goals and strategies. MBA preferred. 3-4 years supervisory and employee development experience. 2-3 years strategic IT planning experience. Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer science or related discipline required. MBA preferred. Experience in business consulting, program management, business systems analysis and software development expertise within Data and Analytics area within Life sciences including Data Warehousing initiatives. Strong verbal, written, presentation and communication skills with ability clearly articulate problem statements and recommendations to leadership team. Must be comfortable with ambiguity; demonstrate problem solving and creative thinking skills, and ability to lead development of roadmaps and plans. People leadership including performance management and development.
