General Description

This position is will be in charge of Items shelving and circulation, Library Space management, UG student literacy training, library marketing and students’ activities.

Main Responsibility and Accountability

• Provide professional and user oriented library services that meets the user expectations.

• Provide efficient management of the library space, and make the Library as comfortable, essay access and safety place to support learning teaching and research.

• Promote the significance of the library through student activities via physical library activities and on social media.

• To act as a teacher or tutor to teach and guide students with information retrieval and management skills.

• To manage the circulation service in all the library service desk (day shift/night shift/weekend shift).

• To recruit, train and manage all the part time staff and students helpers in the Library Reading Rooms

• To do research into the library services, provide suggestions to XJTLU library with respect to library functions, services, building and others.

• Book/newspaper/journal shelving and management

Position Qualification Requirement

Skills and Knowledge

• Good Chinese and English language skills.

• Be skilled in computer using, especially the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Have effective communication and customer service skills.

• Be able to work well in a team.

• Be interested in books and sources of information in general.

• Be willing to make a career in library.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Library, Archive Management or Information Management related subjects with 2 year working experience

• Bachelor Degree in related fields with more than 4 years working experience Or Master Degree in related fields with more than 1 year working experience
