Assistant Vice President - Group Risk Management (Enterprise Risk Management)

Job Description

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain the HKEX enterprise risk management framework. Research enterprise risk management industry trends and developments
  • Support efforts in periodic risk assessments, risk management due diligence, treatment plan assessment, loss event analysis, KRI/KCI/KPI monitoring
  • Produce operational risk reports and metrics for management reporting to various Risk Management Committees
  • Provide thought leadership, conduct analysis, research relevant topics and providing risk management recommendations
  • Manage regulatory submissions and filings as they pertain to risk management
  • Develop and prepare training materials to enhance risk awareness in the firm
  • Coordinate departmental corporate social responsibility report submissions 
  • Provide project management support on upcoming risk management enhancement initiatives
  • Initiate, develop and recommend practices and procedures that focus on increased productivity and reduce cost and time
  • Lead team’s annual budgeting and monthly reporting process


Job Requirements: 

  • University Degree, preferably in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or other related discipline
  • Holder of relevant Professional Qualification or Master’s degree will be an advantage
  • At least 6 years’ experience in operations, controls, compliance, enterprise/operational risk, audit or other related areas, of which at least 2 years at a management level in well-established financial institution
  • Prior experience working with teams and business lines across multiple jurisdictions and/or locations
  • Sound knowledge of risk management models, common practice and overall risk management system
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or SharePoint
  • Prior experience in databases, such as MS Access or SQL, is an advantage
  • Prior experience in statistical analysis is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and must be team oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with a strong delivery focus
  • Excellent project management and meticulous attention to details
  • Good command of written and spoken English, proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
