Job Posting Details

The appointee will be responsible for assisting the day-to day operation of the Ocean Research Facility (OCRF). His/her responsibilities include:

1. Assist in the operation of OCRF by providing technical support in the laboratory, the operation of the seawater system and curation of laboratory animals in the indoor aquarium for experiments and educational tours;
   
   
2. Assist in equipment installation, offer operational training to users and perform routine maintenance of basic laboratory instruments;
   
   
3. Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of laboratorial safety and access control of OCRF; and
   
   
4. Assist in equipment inventory, stock keeping of laboratory consumables and provide other administrative services in OCRF.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's or higher degree in science disciplines with at least 1 year’s post-qualification working experience in a research laboratory. The appointee should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) with good interpersonal skills and strong sense of responsibility. He/She should be able to work independently as well as within a team and be self-motivated. Experience in maintenance of seawater aquarium and seawater supply system is preferred. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
