Job Description

職務說明 / Key Responsibilities

Creates strategic vision and thought leadership for the external image of the Microsoft brand, products and programs with media, analysts, end-users, partners, academics, government officials, community agencies and other influential constituencies.

Responsible for developing and managing the PR strategy and plans for specific Microsoft products in an individual subsidiary, multi-sub area or business group.

Responsible to localize the relevance of business priorities for various products by audience in individual countries or regions.

Expected to sit on several virtual teams in a subsidiary, region or business group to counsel BG marketing managers on a PR strategy best suited for their products.

Responsible to work with PR leadership to mitigate issues and identify opportunities that will help positively shift perceptions about Microsoft and its products.

Owns the management and development of PR plans, media relations strategies, and when appropriate, analyst relations strategies, that map to the business goals of BG leads and their marketing plans.

Acts as a trusted advisor and accountable to business group owners, marketing managers, and the CMG effectively executing on marketing and communications goals through PR and communications.

Responsible for coaching/briefing BG Marketing Managers on messaging and storytelling for media and public events.

Works with PR leadership to manage PR budgets and resources, whether internal or external, to execute the PR activities outlined in product PR plans.

Responsible for current knowledge of Microsoft’s technology strategy, the media and social networking environment, all customer and partner audiences, competitive landscape and influential.

Responsible for PR agency review & management, target setting, measurement processes, and reporting of Microsoft PR results related to the products this role is representing.

PR Strategy Setting & Planning
  • Through collaboration with BG Marketing Managers develop a PR/Media Relations strategy that maps to stated business objectives.
  • Manage integration with key stakeholders (i.e. other BGs, CMG, EPG,SMSP, PSG, CELA) groups on messaging strategy, media plans, stories and image goals for specific products this role is responsible for.
  • Develop a PR plan that outlines a budget and metrics for PR campaigns, activities and top stories, Prime scorecard related to specific products

Storytelling and Messaging
  • Through alignment with corporate image agenda, proactively develop compelling story ideas, building message house and pitches using customer research, industry news, Microsoft products and people, technology and lifestyle trends.
  • Develop compelling, concise, creative, and credible fact-based messaging to support product PR activities.
  • Act as trusted advisor and coach, briefing management and executives on key messages and storytelling for media interviews and public or internal events

Media Strategy & Relations
  • Identify and manage the engagement with top influential media, analysts and online influencers
  • Evaluate, negotiate and manage PR vendors who support media relations
 Digital Communications Strategy & Capabilities
  • Work closely with the CMG teams and digital marketing groups to build integrated plans that include and embrace digital resources, capabilities and techniques into
  • PR activities.

Crisis Communications and Mitigation Management
  • Anticipate mitigating issues or unexpected opportunities and work with management to develop a strategy
  • Develop communications plan with key stakeholders and PR leadership involved with reactive or crisis situation for all audiences impacted by the situation.
