Job Description

VTC STEM Education Centre
 
Major Duties:
(a) To assist in organizing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) development activities and carrying out the implementation work of programmes / projects / trainings for students and teachers;
(b) To assist in developing various STEM events and teaching packages for students and teachers, including but not limited to research studies, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and competitions, by using technology enhanced-learning approach;
(c) To network with the industry to explore the collaboration opportunities for STEM-related showcases and projects;
(d) To work out the project plan and system specifications for procurement and site installation; and
(e) To provide support in daily operations, meetings, events and activities, and supervise technical staff of the STEM Education Centre.
     
Requirements:
(a) A recognized degree or professional qualification in Engineering field, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
(b) Preferably relevant work experience in STEM project development, system integration and software development;
(c) Mature, independent, dynamic, creative, self-motivated, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; and
(d) Good knowledge of MS Word (English and Chinese), Excel and PowerPoint would be an advantage.
     
Notes:
(1) The appointment will be on a fixed-term contract up to 31 August 2020.
(2) The post is in the rank of Teaching Associate.
(3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English.
(4) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
(5) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
