Public Policy is one of the strategic areas identified by HKUST for its future development. The Division of Public Policy (PPOL) and the Institute for Public Policy (IPP) were established to spearhead this effort through the development of interdisciplinary policy research and rigorous policy training programs.
The appointee will provide administrative support, primarily for the two taught master’s programs entitled Master of Public Policy (MPP) and Master of Public Management (MPM). The appointee will report to the Head of PPOL, the Director of IPP and the Program Directors to manage the delivery of program activities and ensure smooth program operations. Major responsibilities include but not limited to the followings: (a) managing student admissions, organizing events, such as seminars, workshops and other program outreach activities, and preparing promotional materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, website, brochures and Facebook/WeChat page(s); (b) handling academic matters, such as curriculum, course registration, timetabling, scholarships, capstone projects and graduation check; (c) interacting with students on a daily basis and assisting the Program Directors in providing advice on academic studies; (d) administering budget and year plan and providing secretarial support to committees and advisory board; and other duties as assigned by the Director of IPP/Head of Division of Public Policy. Working outside normal office hours and outside Hong Kong may be occasionally required.
Applicants should have a recognized bachelor’s degree, preferably with a master’s degree in public policy and management, plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidates should have a positive and proactive attitude; enjoy interacting with students; be meticulous and highly organized; be able to multi-task; and be a good team player. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (including fluency in Putonghua), word processing, and spreadsheet management is required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
