Job Description

The Assistant Manager (Employer Branding, Colleague Communication & Colleague Engagement) is responsible for developing employer branding, colleague communication and colleague engagement initiatives, programmes and activities, in order to support the hotel’s business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities 

Supports Work On Employer Branding 

  • Assists to strategise and drive ongoing progressive and best practices in enhancing employer branding as an employer of choice through colleague relationship management and engagement.  
  • Assists to sustain the hotel’s position as an employer of choice and a leading world-class hospitality icon. 
  • Assists to benchmark against the best-in-class not only within international and local hospitality but across all industries worldwide through colleague engagement. 
  • Coordinates with Marketing Communications in work related to employer branding and communicating activities internally.
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of Talent and Culture related awards.

Heartist Journey – Colleague Communication  

  • Responds to all colleague enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Ensures the dissemination of information to hotel colleagues in the most effective way on timely basis and in a timely manner.  
  • Prepares posters, and updates all colleague communication channels e.g. colleague notice boards, colleague TV screens, ‘TalkTown’ – colleague mobile phone app, etc.
  • Prepares Talent and Culture submission for ‘Raffles Insights’ – online newsletter by Marketing Communications.
  • Prepares Talent and Culture social media posts and coordinates with Marketing Communications.
  • Prepares colleague communication sessions, road shows, etc with themes.
  • Creates and manages colleague communication platforms e.g. intranet, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Aligns to approved format job descriptions that are updated by respective ExCo.

  • Creates a fun-work culture that supports Raffles Hotel Singapore’s Employer Value Proposition to select the right talents, develop and engage our colleagues to be part of Singapore’s finest hospitality team as our Raffles story continues …
  • Creates fun, enticing, attractive and current activities that reach all colleagues on frequent and regular basis.
  • Plans and executes the hotel’s colleague activities and events e.g. sports, wellness, social, recreational, educational visits, enrichment workshops, interest groups, teambuilding, etc.
  • Plans and executes the hotel’s colleague Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, programmes and activities.
  • Strategically plans an annual calendar of colleague activities and communicates the calendar regularly.
  • Takes ownership of colleague notice boards related to colleague activities as well as uses social media and other forms of communication to share internally and externally what Raffles Hotel Singapore’s colleagues are engaged with.
  • Assists to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel’s colleague facilities including locker rooms, rest rooms, colleague dining room etc in ensuring that heart-of-house colleague areas are attractive and well maintained at all times.
  • Creates vibe to heart-of-house colleague areas.
  • Assists to oversee positive colleague experience in duty meals, night transport, foreign colleagues’ housing, etc.
  • Plans and executes the hotel’s colleague engagement survey.
  • Assists in communicating the hotel’s colleague engagement results.
  • Plans and executes the hotel’s colleague recognition programmes to inculcate a culture of spontaneous colleague recognition.
  • Creates, manages and measures colleague recognition i.e. overall, departmental, peer-to-peer, etc.
  • Celebrates success of the hotel and colleagues. 
  • Assists to drive a fun and caring environment and a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Assists to drive awareness and compliance with Accor’s Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibilities Charter, Code of Ethics, Social Media Policy, Anti-Corruption/Anti-Bribery Policy, etc.
  • Assists to drive a highly engaged and high performance environment focusing on guest passion and quality.
  • Creates, manages and measures platforms and activities that engage colleagues with business objectives and leadership.

Prepares And Submits Reports On Employer Branding, Colleague Communication And Colleague Engagement 

  • Prepares and submits on timely basis Accruals and Forecast reports on Employer Branding, Colleague Communication and Colleague Engagement to Assistant Director of Talent and Culture, and provides relevant supporting documents for submission.
  • Prepares and submits reports on Employer Branding, Colleague Communication and Colleague Engagement.

Involvement In Wider Job Function Relationships 

  • Assists and supports the Talent and Culture team in projects and colleague activities as required.
  • Implements corporate Talent and Culture initiatives and programmes on timely basis.
  • Upholds Accor Values of Guest Passion, Sustainable Performance, Spirit of Conquest, Innovation, Trust and Respect in the execution of all duties and responsibilities, and in ensuring full compliance by all departments.
  • Participates and supports sustainability in corporate initiatives and programmes such as Planet 21 – Corporate Social Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion, Women at AccorHotels Generation (WAAG), etc.
  • Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

Candidate Profile

Knowledge and Experience

  • Tertiary education with specialisation in English language/Mass Communications/ Human Resources from a reputable institution.
  • Strong writing skills with Distinction in English language.
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience preferably in hospitality industry and in luxury hotels in Singapore. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word).

Competencies

  • Oral fluency and written excellence in English.
  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages and dialects an advantage.
  • Strong communicator with presentation and influencing skills.
  • Good listener, and able to feedback to colleagues with solutions with support of respective heads of department.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with colleagues from different cultures and connect well with colleagues at all levels.
