Hotel Overview

Situated in Senayan Square at the South end of Jakarta's Central Business District, Fairmont Jakarta will feature 380 spacious guestrooms and 108 Fairmont branded suites. Additional features and amenities to the urban hotel include a number of lounges and several restaurants featuring a variety of culinary offerings. For corporate events and local galas, the hotel features 3,500 square meters of function space, including a 1,200 square meter ballroom.

Assistant Director of Sales

Assistant Director of Sales is accountable for generating budgeted room nights and or revenue on existing accounts as well as development of new accounts/markets through personal selling. 

This position is not the first line supervisory position, however its role is to assist Director of Sales and Marketing to manage the corporate sales team.  It is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing to train and develop the direct reporting personnel.

Through your passion and motivation, you sell memorable experience to guests who stay in your property. You are professional and knowledgeable about your property, and you build strong relationships and create bond with your guests.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers
  • Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations
  • Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details within the appropriate software applications
  • Exceed personal sales goals as well as hotel revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis 
  • Responsible for assisting Director of Sales/Director of Sales Marketing on all reporting 
  • Identify prospective customers and establish revenue goals for existing key accounts and key prospects within their specific market segment 
  • Ensure delivery of expected guest service through follow up and coordination with other hotel departments.  Assist the Director of Sales and Marketing to maintain positive relations with all Guests, Vendors, Colleagues and National Sales Offices 
  • Plan events to encourage interaction with counterparts on other Sales Teams that can provide Referral business 
  • Assist Director of Sales to keep a constant focus on identification of hi-potential colleagues and succession planning opportunities/needs
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required
  • To provide constant analysis of market feedback and competitor information to ADOSM/DOSM 
  • Oversee Coordinator/Assistant workload and plan monthly Coordinator/Assistant luncheon/meetings 
  • Assist with development/implementation of annual budget and development of marketing plan

Your experience and skill include:

  • Previous leadership experience within sales required, preferably in a luxury hotel environment in Indonesia
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience in similar capacity with demonstrated track records.
  • Degree in any discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Service oriented with an eye for details
  • Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team 
  • Good presentation and influencing skills 
  • Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse cultures 
  • Flexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectively 
  • Ability to work independently and has good initiative under dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated and energetic
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Indonesia required
