Job Description

l Fully understand Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund marketing strategy, Sales & Marketing Plan, Budget and Goals.

l Fully understand and follow Waldorf Astoria’s SOP, and make sure all government section staff follow as well.

  • To oversee all the activities of government section’s Sales Managers, Assistant Sales Managers, Sales Executives, and Sales Coordinator and meet the desired goal of the hotel in an efficient way.
  • Ensure all section staffs have efficient administration in office procedure and smooth operation of the sales office system.
  • To conduct communication with sales staff on a daily basis to review sales results and advise subordinates of strategies/ additional responsibility.
  • To guide the section’s Sales Managers, Assistant Sales Managers and Sales Executives to contact potential accounts and ensure proper servicing of the accounts.
  • To meet decision-makers all government accounts in Hilton, and FAM groups for inspection and close the sale.
  • To oversee the development of confirmed business through communication with subordinates and greet/ meet clients when they are in-house.
  • To carry out the goal in the Sales Action Plan of government section.
  • To accompany the government sales team on sales call and lead the team in achieving the goals. .
  • To make recommendation and give suggestion on marketing programs/ campaigns that will impact the market place.
  • To look after the orientation program and on the job training at all sales team members.
  • To handle and find out key volume accounts personally, and for the hotel as well.

Other Considerations:

l To prepare by-annual activity plan and summary.

l To assist in the marketing plan and budget preparation.

l Attend the Sales daily briefing and Business Development meeting.

l To lead attend frequent market survey for government market segment.

l To submit sales report and plan upon request.

Specifications:

l Fluent in written and oral English

l Above 28 years of age.

l Minimum 5 years of work experience in the hotel industry in a managerial role.

l Good interpersonal skills, strong leadership and aptitude.

l Pleasant and out-going personality.

l Able to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.

l Able to develop and train subordinates.

l Possess administration and management skills.

l Creative and yield daily work load.
