Assistant Computer Officer (carrying the job title of ‘STEM Education Officer’)
Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Computer Officer in a STEM education project funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. This Project aims to nurture the youth to help resolve the daily living problems of the community stakeholders by effectively applying STEM knowledge and skills in an innovative way.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the appointee will be responsible for (a) leading, designing and delivering the STEM-education curriculum; (b) designing and delivering the train-the-trainer STEM Teacher Professional Training Programme; (c) developing the STEM learning materials for the students and the trainers; (d) rendering consulting service and support for the prototypes and final product production; (e) assuming the responsibility of instructional design, learning technologies, and film directing for the online teaching materials; (f) leading the development of the necessary software and hardware resources; (g) scheduling the technical-related activities with reference to the project cycle; (h) supervising teammates to optimise the production of prototypes; and (i) performing other relevant tasks as prescribed by the Principal Investigator.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Science, Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised university; (ii) at least 5 years’ experience in the field of education, eLearning, learning technology, or a domain related to education; (iii) extensive experience in organising educational projects or campaigns; (iv) a sound portfolio of overseeing educational projects or campaigns in the Hong Kong school context; and (v) strong leadership qualities, good liaison, organisational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and experience in managing software/hardware development will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
