The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning, developing and maintaining different IT-related applications/initiatives/projects with close co-ordination with various teams and users; (b) operating and monitoring Linux or Windows OS servers, maintaining TCP/IP networking and application server/infrastructure and other storage systems; (c) maintaining e-lock and CCTV systems; (d) promoting and executing different IT-related guidelines, policies and regulations as implemented by the University and the Faculty of Medicine; (e) serving as the Head of the IT Team and supervising junior IT staff members; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned or on the request of other user teams.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines; (ii) at least 4 years’ relevant post-qualification experience, preferably gained at tertiary institutions, government or NGOs; (iii) solid experience in programming in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C#, ASP.NET, and relational database languages; (iv) knowledge of maintaining and developing open source web applications; (v) solid experience in administering internet services servers and network firewalls; (vi) experience in automating daily system management tasks through scripting and/or package; (vii) good knowledge of supporting a variety of computer equipment, including Windows/Mac PC and laptop; and (viii) strong self-motivation, with the ability and maturity to work independently and as a team head; (x) good communication, interpersonal, leadership, multitasking, organisational and problem-solving skills; and (xi) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including fluency in Putonghua). Relevant experience in audio visual system operations and renovations, and good knowledge of and relevant experience in IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL) or Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2) will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a skill test.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
