Assistant Computer Officer

The appointee will be assigned to the Education Technology Services Team of the Academic Support Services, and will be responsible for (a) providing support in the management of online course development projects; (b) providing support to instructional media production; (c) providing end-user support for services offered by the Education Technology Team; (d) performing other IT support tasks as assigned by the Centre; (e) working with teachers in different subject areas to develop and implement online courses; (f) providing support to training teachers and students on the use of educational technologies; (g) preparing proposals, presentations and documentations for online courses / eLearning projects; (h) learning and identifying new technologies and best practices, brainstorming new and innovation ideas, and evaluating new technologies for online courses / eLearning design, development and management efficiently; and (i) developing new skills and knowledge in supporting the needs of teachers and students.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies/Science or relevant subjects; (ii) online course development and project management experiences, eLearning design, development and production experience, or user support experience of education technologies; (iii) an outgoing and self-motivated work attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and (iv) the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of instructional media / video / animation / web / AR / VR / MR production and application is advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 1- or 2-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
