Assistant Computer Officer
Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Computer Officer in a STEM education project funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. This Project aims to nurture the youth to help resolve the daily living problems of the community stakeholders by effectively applying STEM knowledge and skills in an innovative way. Closely working with the STEM Education Officer, the appointee will be responsible for (a) carrying out the design, modification and implementation process of educational STEM project for secondary school students; (b) assisting in the production of the train-the-trainer materials as well as teaching materials; (c) troubleshooting software and hardware issues of STEM project; (d) serving as a technical consultant for participating schools to tackle the software and hardware implementation issues and facilitate the feasibility test, hardware design, software programming and prototype making; (e) assisting in the filming, editing and production of video-based materials and documentary footages; and (f) performing other relevant tasks as prescribed by the supervisor.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised university; (ii) at least 1 year of experience in software development, engineering, STEM education or equivalent field; (iii) good knowledge of a given programming language (e.g. C/C++/JAVA/C#); (iv) some experience in any open source single board computer (e.g. Raspberry Pi/Arduino/Micro:bit); and (v) good liaison, organisational and interpersonal skills. Work experience in a school context will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
