Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Independently handle all operations in regard to Marine Cargo, Yacht claims & collision liability claims within authorized limit.
  • To assess the nature and extent of loss and to determine the engagement of independent surveyor for cargo inspection
  • To review coverage afforded under the policy subject to case merits and to set appropriate reserves based on loss
  • To negotiate offers/settlements subject to coverage and loss value.
  • To identify, investigate and detect suspicious/fraudulent claims and strategize investigation
  • Management of General Average and other cargo claims recovery
  • To facilitate the claims turn-around time and ensure claims services quality

Job Requirements:

  • University degree with insurance qualifications a bonus eg. ANZIF or ACII. Marine surveyors and those with shipping backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • At least 3 years' relevant marine claims handling and/or cargo inspection experience
  • Good knowledge of insurance principles, marine insurance products and services.
  • Good knowledge on trade and shipping practices and understanding of shipping documentations
  • Good inter-personal skills as you will be expected to engage with various stakeholders within and outside the organization.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team
  • Must be analytical and adaptive to changes readily
  • Basic computing skills is a must
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese
  • Candidate with less expereince will be considered as Senior Officer
