Job Description

Veranome Biosystems LLC, an Applied Materials company, provides the spatial analysis market with a reliable, easy-to-use, end-to-end multi-omics solution. Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and high-performing individual. In this role, you will take on a leadership role in developing applications which showcase the Veranome spatial transcriptomics platform.  Our current areas of focus include neurobiology and immuno-oncology.  You will be a key interface between Veranome’s customers and collaborators, and internal functions including R&D (assay, hardware, and software), marketing, sales, and program management.  You will provide pre-sales support to the sales team to position Veranome for successful wins, and enable the success of our customers through post-sales training and application support. 

This position will require you to:

  • Work with highly-skilled applications and R&D scientists to develop new workflows on Veranome’s state of-the-art spatial transcriptomics platform.  This will include:
    • Establishing close relationships with our customers and collaborators
    • Scoping and managing complex spatial transcriptomics projects to meet the client’s needs  
    • Working side-by-side with the assay scientists to execute the studies in the lab, especially during times of high demand or critical needs
    • Working with the software team to analyze and interpret data
    • Working with the marketing team to convey data to the client

  • Translate applications and workflows into external-facing materials including application notes, peer reviewed publications, and presentations at scientific conferences

  • Identify customer needs for new products and/or application content through close communication with field applications scientists, sales, technical support, and customers

  • Work closely with the R&D team in the development of new instruments and products, and the design and execution of validation activities

Education and Experience:

MS/PhD in a Life Sciences field with at least 5-7 years of experience in applications and content development with biological assays and various detection technologies

Key Competencies:

  • Proven track record in successful applications development with customers and collaborators
  • Experience managing a team in applications development is preferred
  • Experience with histology, immunochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and fluorescence imaging
  • Experience with NGS technologies, including single-cell sequencing
  • Broad experience with a range of sample types is preferred (e.g. cells, organoids, tissues)
  • Familiarity with image processing and data analysis is preferred
  • Skill and experience developing timelines and tracking projects, and managing multiple stakeholders (including internal and external collaborators)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English

This position will report to the Director of Assay Development in Mountain View. The position is based in Mountain View and will require some travel.
