This role designs applications required to automate business processes and meet business needs. The resulting design may run on multiple platforms and may be composed of multiple software packages and custom components. This role defines best practices in the critical evaluation and selection and / or development of the software components and hardware requirements of the applications and data, and the development of the application, including evaluation and selection of development methods, development processes, best practices and tools. Applications Architects are responsible for applications-related quality, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity. They are also responsible for the functional interface to applications and for ensuring application usability. The employee guides functional objectives or technologies.

Skills:
Environment: Professional knowledge related to Energy and Utilities Industry function/business unit and its processes.
Communication/Negotiation: Advise other professionals. Effectively utilize group dynamics. Negotiate to define approaches and goals.     Lead or join development team in projects to deliver proposed system for client’s business requirements.
Problem Solving: Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives. Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes. Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment. Responsible for design application architecture and outline component model specification for team member to implement. Provide industry insights in requirement elicitation. Fast response to POC activities to early assess solution feasibility and risks of architecture design. Technology Evangelist in application architecture and programming.

We are currently recruiting for an Application Developer – Microsoft .NET for a 12 months contract, based in Perth.
The Application Development team is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of enhancements. As an Application Developer your responsibilities include –  
 
  • Researching and analysing program needs as per business requirements and identifying technology limitations and drawbacks in existing systems and associated processes.
  • Driving IT project transitions to maintenance and support, planning and risk mitigations on it.
  • Proposing improvement and valued guidance on IT solutions towards innovation for business needs.
  • Feasibility study of business requirements and preparing technical documents (Functional Specification, Test case scenarios, Technical Specification, Risk, Deployment guide) for operational procedures and application user manual for end user documentation.
  • Writing and maintaining program codes, optimizing codes as per industry standards, presenting Proof of Concept to customers.
  • Writing and maintaining back-end database procedures and functions and designing database architecture for applications to work seamlessly.
  • Testing, debugging, identifying faults to rectify the same in application code and design within protocols and quality standard guidelines.
  • Managing technical teams and customer expectation by  providing advice and guidance with problem management skills to ensure smooth operation of meeting SLA KPIs towards excellent service delivery.
To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –
 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in technical leadership of large complex technical projects.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in delivering work products for custom application development projects.
  • At least 3 years in Microsoft technologies (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, WCF, WPF, JAVASCRIPT, JQUERY, AJAX, XML, HTML, SSIS, SSAS and MS SQL SERVER)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Integration components for Transmission and Distribution ERP systems like Ellipse and its hierarchical model in maintaining assets.
  • At least 2 year’s experience  on Energy and Utility Industry standard based Common Information Model concepts  and its architecture.
  • At least 3 years’ experience delivering workable products in a System Integrations program with third party external systems like Ellipse, GIS and Mdrover and well versed with real time message exchange concepts among these systems using webservices.
  •  At least 3 year’s experience in managing COTS (commercial-of-the-shelf) applications for business and  Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems using Web Services or file based message exchange with mDATA21 (meter data management solution), SSN (Silver Spring Network) and billing solutions like Velocity. (Gentrack Velocity)
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
 
  • At least 2 years’ experience in DevOps environments
  • At least 1 year experience with Cloud Migration Services
  • At least 1 year experience with Application Modernization
Compensation package from $80,220 (full-time equivalent inclusive of superannuation) and will be determined based on successful candidates relevant skills and experience
