Summary

Provides daily support to the BEC Logistics team under minimal supervision.  Responsible for supporting Baxter Analysts and Customers in managing the execution of bookings and movement of goods, developing and measuring Carrier KPIs, tracking exports and expediting critical shipments, document proofing, relationship management and support.  Analyze Global Transportation activity and identify cost improvement opportunities.  Monitor and maintain compliance to transportation contracts and provide support in new lane implementations.  Analyzes the Global Transportation processes to support needs and objectives.  Reports directly to the Innovation, Systems and Transportation Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities. 

The Transportation Analyst will perform the following duties:

  • Provides support for day to day export operations and monitoring the movement of cargo out of  Baxter’s US/PR warehouses/distribution centers to global partners.
  • Timely executes bookings created in Transportation Management Solution and troubleshoots delays or issues.
  • Ensures open communication between Carriers, Warehouses, BEC Analysts and Customers.
  • Evaluates and monitors US/PR Transportation costs to support projects and/or department objectives
  • Maintains relationships with US/PR Transportation providers, generates carrier performance reports and participates in quarterly reviews
  • Conducts analysis and prepares business recommendations or corrective actions based on analysis results
  • Continuously audits internal systems to ensure transportation compliance
  • Coordinates with shipping/receiving facilities to ensure on time departures Participates in projects as assigned by management

Qualifications. 

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and function as a liaison with internal and external customers, suppliers and vendors
  • Understanding of international shipment routings and logistics cost drivers, and the ability to collaborate to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries
  • Capability to analyze large amounts of data to identify solutions to delays or other issues
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute daily tasks on a timely basis, and basic project management skills
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communications
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions Identifies quality, service-oriented and innovative solutions and shares key learnings while staying in line with strategic plans
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); Tableau Analytics experience preferred.
  • Experience in Transportation Management Solution, preferably Infor (GT) Nexus Must be able to work with a high degree of independence and be a self-starter

Education and/or Experience. 

Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Transportation/Logistics or another job-relevant field of study

2+ years of experience working in import/export operations, NVOCC/Freight Forwarder Industry is highly desirable
