The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, founded in 1965, is a self-financing unit with the mission to provide quality lifelong education to the community.  CUSCS now invites applications for Accountant I/II (carrying the job title of ‘Senior Manager/Manager of Accounting’) to oversee the operation and lead the accounting team of the School.  

The appointee will be responsible for (a) overseeing the entire accounting and purchasing functions of the School; (b) performing financial planning, budgeting, resources management, cost control, year-end account closing and related accounting matters; (c) preparing financial statements, analyses and costing reports on various cost centres; (d) developing financial management initiatives, policies and procedures; and (e) supporting general office administration as required.   

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree and a professional qualification in Accounting, e.g. HKICPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent; (ii) at least 4 years’ post-qualification relevant working experience, preferably at tertiary institutions; (iii) proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) proficiency in MS Office applications, knowledge of SAP and PeopleSoft applications will be advantageous; (v) excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; and (vi) the competence to work independently.  Applicants with more than 8 years’ relevant working experience may be considered for appointment as Accountant I (carrying the job title of ‘Senior Manager of Accounting’). Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.                    

Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
