THE JOB
Reporting to the Sports Information and External Affairs Manager, the Assistant Research and Sports Information Manager will be responsible for the following duties:
To oversee and manage the organization and operation of the Sports Library including user services, resources management – selection, acquisition/ deacquisition, licensing/ contracting, cataloguing and processing of library materials; statistics and usage record keeping and analyses; library webpage maintenance; and budget planning and monitoring;
- To proactively plan, implement and evaluate initiatives ensuring library services, resources and infrastructure effectively support training and research needs;
- To plan and implement digital library project;
- To research sport-related information for internal clients;
- To implement and supervise sports photo library projects;
- To assist in organising scientific forums and symposiums;
- To supervise subordinate staff;
- To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree in library and information science;
- A minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience;
- Preferably with knowledge of sports and sports system in Hong Kong;
- Experience in providing data and analytics services would be an added advantage;
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese; ability to speak Putonghua is a definite advantage;
- Hands-on experience in computer software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
- Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kongare an added advantage.
