As an APAC Sales Leader you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing the Asia Region sales channel and go to market strategies for ABB’s Electrification Power Conversion (ELPC) Business Area in Shanghai, China ensuring that the division increases sales, margins, market share and customer satisfaction in Asia Region.

Reporting to the Division President, you will lead a sales organization of 4 regional sales directors, 5 field application engineers, and local channel partners supporting $30M+ of revenue of local demand as well as 2 sales managers supporting $80M+ of revenue from contract manufacturers within the region for non-Asia customers.

Your responsibilities

  • Developing and executing the sales and marketing strategy, including specific strategic sales and marketing initiatives, planning and implementing annual budgets across the APAC Region
  • Collaborating with global ELPC Product Management team for the segment, product management, pricing, and product marketing support. Defining key marketing and sales targets (e.g. volume, prices, portfolio mix, channel, and market coverage) and establishing appropriate metrics and measurement tools to monitor performance in the region
  • Coordinating alignment and support from other global sales functions for key accounts, distribution management, and commercial operation support. Ensuring achievement of targets on orders, sales, and past-due % on outstanding account receivables
  • Monitoring, analyzing region performance, and driving corrective actions as needed. Ensuring appropriate approach to global /regional accounts
  • Driving the growth of the top line in each market. Finding and creating new business opportunities that are aligned with focused segments, solutions, and channels across the region
  • Facilitating business support to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Acting as a customer advocate to identify and effectively communicate needs for corrective actions and/or areas of improvement within the business
  • Understanding and sharing the needs of the market by visiting and/or interfacing with customers. Implementing global standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to operations/project execution and share functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization
  • Ensuring (with HR Business Partner support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and directed. Coaching, motivating, and developing direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Your background

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 10 years and a master’s degree or Master of Business Administrator with 8 years of experience leading sales teams
  • Must have strong managerial skills and ability to interpret and forecast changes in customers' buying patterns and product requirements, anticipate market changes and evaluate competitors' products
  • Sound knowledge of company products and ability to develop business plans and sales strategies and communicate required product changes to senior management
  • Must have strong communication skills to negotiate with, and influence customers regarding major sales campaigns.
  • Must be willing to travel on an average of 75% of the time during a typical work week
