Omdia advises some of the world’s largest telcos, network vendors and technology vendors on market strategies, trends, and best practice from across the TMT (telecoms, media and technology) industry. We deliver these services around the fastest moving technologies through either our subscription or consulting divisions.

The Components & Devices consulting team provide a range of custom research services which includes total addressable market analysis, competitor analysis, customer insights, product benchmarking, price benchmarking, teardowns and business strategy development. We also provide targeted custom marketing services which help our clients position themselves for growth, through the design and delivery of messaging strategies, the production of thought leadership white papers, case studies and public speaking, and the provision of audience extension and message amplification capabilities from across the Informa Tech brands.

Job Description

Role Purpose:

Builds and executes a retention and new business development strategy.

 

Responsibility and Accountability:

• Building and executing a retention and new business development strategy for a given customer segment

• Identifying and engaging with new prospects within this segment to gain understanding of their specific challenges

• Working closely with an assigned set of customers to ensure ROI and subsequent continuation of services

• Work as a pro-active member of a high energy/high activity/high achieving business development cohort who deliver strong weekly and monthly metrics as reported on the central sales dashboard

• Achieving revenue targets, proactively responding to inbound enquiries, and self-generated leads based on deep market and product understanding.

• Accurately positioning Omdia’s and Informa Tech’s services as a solution of these challenges

• Reporting accurate forecasting and performance metrics to key internal and external stakeholders, highlighting revenue risks and opportunities

• Work with wider Omdia Analyst and Consulting teams to ensure that a client centric service is delivered.

• Work collaboratively with Informa Tech’s dedicated TMT media and events team to promote Informa Tech’s wider capabilities and solutions across the event and media portfolio.

• Attend/participate in Informa Tech and industry relevant competitor events

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

Commercial acumen – understands and drives the numbers to achieve quota. Highly developed business acumen and the ability to understand the wider issues of the industry.

Thought leadership - How is B2B evolving – shaping business for the future. Deep sector expertise and knowledge in relevant products and Market Pillars.

Systems - Strong knowledge of Informa systems and technology including most importantly salesforce.com or similar CRM.

Communication/negotiation skills - Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and closing skills. Confidence in articulating often complex propositions to multistakeholder buyers.

 

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven industry experience within a consultative B2B environment, 10+ years experience in semiconductor and/or technology industries.

• Demonstrable experience/track record as a top performing individual contributor in a solutions-based B2B environment. Being a team player within a sales team beyond individuals needs.

• Has an established network of clients in one or more sectors and proven track record in new business. Can identify new revenue opportunities and maximise product potential.

• A working knowledge of the TMT marketplace and the business models within it.
