Our offer
For Amgen Research Copenhagen we are looking for an associate scientist to work in the Parallel Chemistry group. You will be part of Amgen’s multiple drug discovery teams taking projects from hit discovery through lead optimization to candidate selection. This role reports to the Parallel Chemistry Team lead.
Responsibilities:
- Synthesis of multiple small molecules in parallel on 2 micromole scale both using solid-phase organic synthesis (SPOS) and parallel solution-phase techniques
- Record and interpret analytical data, e.g. HPLC/MS, UV, and CLND
- Optimize reaction conditions presently used and develop new reactions for a parallel setup
- Individual structuring and planning of work assignments
- Communicate and collaborate actively with other scientists, both chemists and biologists, in English, in order to reach company goals
We are looking for…
The successful candidate has a master’s degree with a theoretical and experimental organic chemistry background. He/she is structured and diligent in their work, knows the importance of precision in following lab protocols and can take ownership of their work. The person will communicate and collaborate actively with scientists, both within chemistry and biology as well as with the student group. Any experience working with analysis of large amounts of analytical data, such as HPLC/MS, UV, and CLND as well as automatization of processes is a clear advantage. Likewise, good IT skills, especially within excel, are favored.
