Our location in Lake Forest, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Business Analyst.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role requires an individual with a passion for analyzing data, extracting needs for business decisions, and assisting in creating products which deliver value to our customers. The Business Analyst will work as part of cross-functional teams including Global Marketing, Research & Development, Information Technology, Quality, Operations, Regulatory and Business Development to deliver software solutions.  They are responsible for understanding the business problems, extracting the user needs and requirements, transforming them into actionable user agile stories and requirements and then working with the R&D development and testing teams through execution. Continuing product support, customer interactions, and on-market support assistance is also expected.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of success delivering new features or products. The candidate will be a critical contributor to defining products within the Diagnostics Division.

  • Serve as subject matter expert, facilitate discussions with users, analyze business needs, define detailed requirements.  This includes maintaining productive relationships with peers and management in IT and the business function.
  • Assist teams with creating solutions which meet the needs of the business, stakeholders, and provide an exceptional end-user experience.
  • Translate users' business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation.
  • Create and execute user acceptance test plans for software changes and enhancements
  • Prepare detailed specifications and related documentation.
  • Identify and communicate risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.
  • Participate in managing the scope of applications and related changes.
  • Assist quality assurance with functional test case review.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirements.
  • Create and execute user acceptance test plans for software changes and enhancements
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Completes project tasks within time and budget constraints.
  • Adheres to established policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. No advanced degree required. At least 5, typically 7 or more years of experience.

Preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Experience with Medical Devices and Clinical laboratories is a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in documenting software user needs, requirements and workflow diagrams and providing oversight for On Market products.
  • Prior experience with BI/ Data Visualization tools, Jira, Jama, Confluence and Lucidchart is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency with in MS Office Suite: Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Project and Power Point.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business and technology needs.
