SUMMARY

Passionate UI/UX Developer/Engineer responsible for developing high performance, responsive user interfaces for visualizing, modeling, wrangling, processing and storing time-series data. The clean, intuitive, and beautiful user interface the candidate will build plays a critical role in the user experience — allowing users to navigate through data and visually manipulate massive data sets to gain new insights, and also share and tell stories.

The UI/UX Developer/Engineer will develop core front-end components of a fast, scalable, complex web application (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, and React) using his/her expert level knowledge of JavaScript. The sleek, beautiful results of his/her work make the individual an integral part of our team as he/she defines, designs, and develops new features.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Design and Develop Web enabled UI applications
• Deep understanding of Cloud native Apps
• Understanding of Cloud Deployment model
• Design, build, maintain, and deploy scalable, standards driven web applications with HTML, CSS, and Javascript
• Recommend Responsive visualizations for Mobile & Tablet views
• Create wireframes to communicate interaction workflows and design ideas
• Experiment with new ways of visualizing large amounts of time-series data
• Work with cross-functional development teams to design and improve our products
• Be a champion of the user experience
• Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices
• Conduct peer review during design, coding and testing

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of proven work experience in Web enabled UI development
• Expertise in Web UI and Rest API Development
• Understanding of Responsive design and working with mobile platform design guidelines
• Experience using Clarity, Angular and NodeJS etc
• Experience with HTML 5, CSS 3.0
• Experience with developing Data Visualization and Analysis applications
• Experience with JSON, XML and other formats Source Control (Git, Stash, Bitbucket, Github, etc…
• Experience using Jenkins, Maven and other build tools
• Strong coding skills in multiple languages
• Good understanding of OOP
• Strong knowledge of application databases
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Tableau dashboarding experience
• Good understanding of IoT technologies

DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Strong knowledge of Web 2.0 Technologies (Java scripting, XML, HTML, AJAX, Jelly, CSS, PERL, scripting etc.)
• Experience with data visualization libraries such as D3.js
• Web application security
• Experience with wireframe tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, or Adobe XD
• Exposure to Google Analytics, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience with planning, developing and creating mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms
• Understanding of IoT technologies
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodology and ability to document requirements and specifications

EDUCATION

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering

TEAMWORK/CROSS-FUNCTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

The ability to work effectively with other team members, including marketing and others from all MT business areas, in a highly variable and often stressful environment is necessary, as well as the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a distributed development team in clear, concise written and verbal English. The employee will be required to participate in daily planning and pair-programming sessions that can last up to 2-3 hours.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

20-30% travel; transportation will be by commercial or by personal means, and will include air travel. Possible international travel with up to 3 trips per year.
