THE JOB

Reporting to the Assistant Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

• To assist the Assistant Purchasing Manager to carry out authorized purchases that are within budget;

• To carry out sourcing and related bidding exercises in accordance with the procurement procedures;
• To follow up and liaise with vendors and users on related purchases; and
• To assist in updating and maintaining the approved vendor list and to maintain accurate records and documentation;
• To support departmental administrative activities; and
• To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE or 5 HKDSE subjects with at least Level 2 or equivalent, including English, Chinese and Mathematics or any post-secondary qualifications;

• Ability to interpret procurement policies and procedures, with one year solid procurement experience is an asset;
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Putonghua is preferred;
• Proficiency in computer software applications including MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing; and
• Able to work under pressure.
