Summary

Baxter Healthcare AMERICAS manufacturing plants are using a high level of Automation.

The company has taken a strategic decision to standardize all plants on a common MES (Manufacturing Execution System platform) EBR-XFP, a SIEMENS software will be rolled out.

This Manager role is to lead the MES COE team composed of 3 people to implement and / or replace legacy POMS systems with the EBR-XFP standard system.

It is required that the lead role take responsibility for the support of the existing implementations. This role involves support and the lead role is responsible for organizing this support from either internal or external resource.

The project role involves being part of a project team to implement the MES in the plants. This role involves being part of a team involving Plant IT, Engineering, Production and Quality Staff. Within the project role the roll out and development of the Software, mentors of the Process Control Systems will guide and work together to ensure the direction and implementation meets the quality and production requirements of the systems and interfaces correctly with other production systems.

This role will report directly to the Global IT Director Manufacturing application, focus on the AMERICA region and working closely with Regional IT leaders and the Plant Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the MES EBR-XFP program for AMERICAS region.
  • Coordinate with APAC & EMEA MES leaders to drive standardization and regional best practices in manufacturing IT programs, both in technology and approach.
  • Monitor the performance of the existing MES  system across appropriate run metrics (availability, tech performance, etc.) and take lead in reporting regionally and globally as needed and in coordination of appropriate issue resolution.
  • Translate business requirements to MES  software solutions
  • Create functional designs, test scripts
  • Assist in estimates of implementation project activities
  • Provide product focused leadership for functional area assigned
  • Understand the Global MES design and be able to write and supervise code development that aligns with the design
  • Provide internal SME focused training
  • Drive standardized business processes among manufacturing systems/functions to simplify business processes using industry experience
  • Work closely with management to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs, including translate needs to functional systems requirement documents and design specifications
  • Manage overall testing process and project to within defined project plan timelines
  • During Maintenance, Small Change and project work ensure all testing and validation requirements are performed

Qualifications

  • Have 5+ years experience in MES EBR-XFP application development and implementation
  • Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Have the ability to work independently as well as within multi-disciplinary teams;
  • People management skills
  • Utilize outstanding time management skills;
  • Proven ability to manage software implementations across multiple, global locations,   with strong ability to interact effectively within a multidisciplinary and diverse team.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, organizational, technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Support manufacturing leadership in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Determine value assessment/business drivers for process improvement within manufacturing IT
  • English language proficiency is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
  • Manufacturing IT Operational experience desired
  • Experience in MES application in Pharmaceutical or Food Industry  
  • Office environment based in US.  Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, primarily to AMERICAS Baxter Manufacturing location.  May require weekend and extended work periods.
